In the early 1970's, the Strat-o-matic Game (SOM) Company working with the Strat-o-matic Review organized two national conventions filled with tournaments for the SOM gamers -- they were smash successes. But the game company and SOM Review did have the resources to contin the conventions. So a rag-tag group of gamers from Chicago including Wolfman Shapiro (now 40 years later, the editor of an on-line baseball newsletter) created 7 more years of conventions in Illinois.

This webpage is the continuation of those conventions just for the baseball game, offering a special tournament run on-line by the members of the Strat Alliance, introduced below. This type of joint effort has not been done before for the SOM Baseball Community.
