Convention Supporters

I played in Strat-O-Matic tournament run by these guys (the 1980 National Convention)
back in the day and it was a blast!  I highly recommend this tournament for Strat fans.

Members of the Board of the Star Tournaments

— I would like to see more baseball gamers have a chance to experience
the special baseball tournaments we have been offering over a number of years
now and thus I support this convention as a way to bring us all together to
enjoy the spirit of being a part of an SOM Baseball contest!
(Pete Nelson)

— I see it as an opportunity to reach new players, play some strat, and have some fun.
(Gene Abood, Tournament Director of Tourney II of the Convention)

President of Pure Strat (western division of Star Tournaments)

— I want the Strat community to grow and also reach out to the many players
that are out there.

— “The Ultimate Strat Baseball Newsletter” is a great resource for fans of
all things Strat-O-Matic. The upcoming Online Convention and website is a great
place to visit to connect with other Strat-O-Matic fans. Wolfman Shapiro organized the
Strat-O-Matic conventions in IL in the late 1970’s and early 1980’s.
He is a good friend.”

in Glen Guzzo’s book about SOM and called THE COLLECTOR)

Having been a tournament player and organizer for many years, I fully support this new and exciting way of bringing gamers together. I hope this continues in the tradition of the conventions of years past and feeds not only the Star tournaments but stock team tournaments that seem to have taken on a new life in recent years.
