Bruce
Bundy's Bio in his own words
Well, I've
played Strat since 1969. I love Strat-O-Matic. I've
played way too many games. I can't stop - yet!
I love our great SOM Community. Some of the things I've
been involved with in the past are:
-->
I published over 30 (up to about 60 now) formulas on
how to create Strat-O-Matic Baseball cards from scratch
and other articles and antics with my friend Glenn
Guzzo's beloved Strat-Fan SOM Magazine.
-->
I ran the official "Strat-O-Matic BBS" Bulletin Board
from 1987 to 1992. At Bob Winberry's
request, I recruited Will Kolodzie's SOMWorld as our
official SOM Online Magazine - and, I also recruited Dan
Patterson for our Official Strat-O-Matic Web Forum.
-->
I am very proud that I have been a Strat-O-Matic Beta
Tester for many years and I am proud of my contributions
to the betterment of our beloved game.
|
-->
My greatest achievement was the creation of the official
"Pitchers' Hitting Cards" for the 2011 season.
-->
I am proud to have been part of my good friends Len Durrant's
and Gary Simond's cardmaking projects. So much not mentioned!
I've met so many great Strat guys through the years!
The Strat-O-Matic Game Company has treated me so wonderfully!
Everybody has treated me beautifully there! I cannot thank them
enough! What a great hobby this has been!
HERE are the
STRAT
THOUGHTS
for March, 2013 by Bruce Bundy
-->
Ask
StratDraft.com guy (the creator) how many leagues he does in a
year!"
(Note
from the Wolfman:
the CBA just used this great program and we hope
to share more about this great tool in a future issue!!)
-->
Starred
Pitchers = @if((Am2*AA2)>6000), "*".
(how to determine if a pitcher has an asterisk and go with 3
days rest)
For example:
Am(starts), AA (innings)
29 220
30 200
31 196.7
32 193.3
33 190
-->
In a
draft, when they pick hitters, pick a pitcher!
-->
You must
actively attempt stealing every opportunity to get life-like
results.
-->
Closers
need only a 3 rating to dominate a league.
-->
"A"
bunters and "B" Hit-and-runners comprise over 25% of all
players.
-->
A #1
Tier SOM player has a TOP 100 SOM card EVERY YEAR (Pujols).
-->
A #2
Tier SOM player has a TOP 100 SOM card EVERY OTHER YEAR (Saberhagen)
-->
A #3
Tier SOM player has a TOP 100 SOM card EVERY 3rd YEAR (Ludwick).
-->
Draft
the best player available.
-->
Use "A"
Bunters and "B" Hit&Run when you got em!
-->
Pitching
wins World Series.
(Wolfman:
I highly recommend you take a look at Bruce's website, it has
the formulas he shares, some interesting interviews and we
recommend the video blog that he did on small ball of which the
link to view this video is shown below here. I have suggested to
Bruce that if you like this blog, perhaps he might consider to do more videos
in the future.
Also if our readers have specific areas of the Baseball Game
you wish for him to cover, just email us directly and we will
pass this on to Bruce. Or, if you wish to
send Bruce an email again, send it to our email address and we
will make sure he receives your message.)
